I am Vice Principle of The Sutton Academy and the proud member of the governing body of Sherdley Primary. I believe in the importance of education and the impact it has on children's life chances. Cathey Briars

Vice Chair of Governors

Co-opted Governor

As a co-opted governor, I am keen to ensure that the voice, aspirations and priorities of the parents of Sherdley pupils are a key part of school decision making at the most strategic level. My background as a teacher, and a subsequent career supporting and writing about parent mental health are probably why I was elected to the role- but far more useful are the experiences I live every day raising two inquistive, exhausting and terrifyingly unpredictable children!

Co-opted Governor

It is an honour and privilege to be voted on the board of governors of this wonderful school.
As a parent of two attendees, I recognise the significance of a good education and the importance it places on the development of children preparing them for life’s arduous journey.

Originally from Warrington, myself and wife Laura relocated to St Helens in 2014 and live in the Sutton area.
I currently work full-time as the Head of Darts for a large betting company. In addition, I proudly manage a local under 9s football team of which my son is a player. I am also currently the vice chairman of the school PTA.

Football is a huge passion of mine and I have been a season ticket holder with Liverpool for over 25 years.
