D&T

Hello my name is Miss James and I am the DT co-ordinator at Sherdley Primary School. I joined the school in 2016 and have been the DTco-ordinator since 2017. I am also phase 5/6 lead for our school, art co-ordinator and am part of the pastoral/behaviour team. I also love drama and regularly support Mr Hughes, our music co-ordinator, in leading our school prouductions!

DT is a vehicle for creativity and ingenuity in our school. Our DT curriculum allows our children to create products fit for purpose in the areas of form, cooking & nutrition and textiles. With the creative process always in the forefront of our minds, we follow the steps of research, make, design and evaluate to thoroughly study the origins of our projects in order to make an effective product. I love seeing our children's final pieces and hearing how much pride they take in their work. 

I am also supported in DT by Mrs Abbott who has an intrest in the creative arts and I support other staff by offering my knowlege and skills wherever necessary.
